The Call

One day your phone starts ringing, you go looking for it, once you find it you look at the caller ID. It says "GOD".
You're thinking "What??? God is calling me??? Wait, why would He call me?"
You answer the phone and God says, "Hello, My Beloved Child, I am going somewhere. Will you go with Me?"
"Uhhh, where are You going?" you stammer.
"Tell Me if you will go with Me. Don't worry, I'll tell you where we are going on the way."
"Umm, God, what will we be doing?" you say, you're kinda getting scared here still wondering why God is calling you.
"We will be touching the lives of people all over the world, some will come to you and others you will have to go to."
"Wait a sec, You mean I have to talk to people?" Now you are kinda wishing you hadn't answered the phone.
"Yes, but I will tell you what to say. I'll always be with you."
"But I don't know how to do all this ministry stuff! That is not what I had in mind for my life. I want to do my thing, if I follow You I can't." you object.
"But My way is what was planned for you. I love you. I want to work with and through you."
"I'm scared. What if everyone hates me. They'll make fun of me, call me a fool, they'll persecute me and try to kill me!"
"No, they probably won't like you. But they didn't like Me either. Trust Me, I've been there, yes, it hurts but your rewards are in heaven and that is like nothing else you've ever dreamed."
"Well, what if... I mean I can't... ummm... O.k., God, I'll go with You." you finally ascent.
"Good! Now come with Me, I have alot to do and I want you to help. Don't worry, I'll always be with you, I"ll never leave you. You don't have to fear anything and you don't need to worry about anything because I am in control. You don't need to take anything with you, I'll provide what you need. Don't be scared, I'll give you My strength... Just, don't leave the path!"

When Jesus physically left this earth He left us with a very important command:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." ~Matthew 28:19-20
This command was so important it is repeated in two more Gospels (Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:47-48) and Acts 1:8. Jesus came to the world to save the world and He has chosen to use us as the objects to do it. Romans says that without a preacher no one will be able to hear (Romans 10:14-15), that is why we as Christians have been commissioned to tell everyone about our Savior, because if we don't tell them who will? Does that mean you have to leave everything and go live in some mud hut on an island and preach to the natives? No, not for most people, some maybe, but not most. We are, every one, called to be Believers and called to tell others. Our neighbors, friends, co-workers, and the walmart check-out lady. When we live our lives we are supposed to live it in order to proclaim the life of Christ. Yeah, people will think we've flipped our lid and need to be put in a funny farm (1 Corinthians 1:27-29) but that is just cause they don't understand God, which is why they need us to tell them. This is the call on every believer's life. No matter who you are, if you are a true born again believer you have been called into the service of the King. He has called you to be an ambassador to the nations (2 Corinthians 5:20), that may be your nation it may be another nation. It doesn't matter how old or young, big or small, what color, what language, you have been called to be a witness and to present the testimony of Jesus Christ to everyone you encounter.

At the same time there are some people who are called into ministry. God has called many people into the position of Pastor, Teacher, and Evangelist (1 Corinthians 12:28) and others. Everyone has their place in the service of God, in every situation you must give up your own ambitions and pursuits and submit to His purposes and will.

The question is: What will you do?
 Will you answer the call?
